Giving the Gift of Sight with RestoringVision

For several years Eye Doctors of Washington has partnered with RestoringVision to improve vision around the globe with help from our community of LASIK patients. Each year during our campaign to support this important cause, we donate 100 pairs of reading glasses to people in need for every LASIK procedure performed at Eye Doctors of Washington.

Vision is so important! We are all connected by the need for clear vision. To work, to learn, and to be part of a community – Life requires clear vision and that means corrected vision.

2.5 billion people around the world are struggling with poor vision. 544 million people around the globe need reading glasses but live in developing countries with limited or no access to glasses.

Together we have made a difference.

To solve any global health problem, it takes a village. Eye Doctors of Washington is proud of our work with RestoringVision, a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to distributing reading glasses and sunglasses to those in need.

In 2018 Eye Doctors of Washington reached our goal of donating 10,000 pairs of glasses in partnership with RestoringVision! We are so grateful to everyone who supported our mission. With your help, we have been able to provide glasses to over 20,000 people in need since 2017.

• Vision impairment is one of the largest health issues across the globe.
• 544 million people dealing with vision impairment just need a pair of reading glasses for vision correction.

RestoringVision distributes new reading glasses and sunglasses to charitable organizations serving disadvantaged people in developing countries. Approximately 2.5 billion people worldwide suffer from uncorrected vision impairment. 544 million people only need non-prescription reading glasses to correct their vision, but live in developing countries with limited or no access to glasses. Since 2003, RestoringVision has partnered with over 1,400 organizations and distributed more than 7 million glasses to people in 124 countries around the world.
