Dr. Kang Interviewed on GMW for Cataract Awareness Month
Having such an extensive background in cataract surgery, Dr. Paul C. Kang was recently interviewed on the ABC 7 news program “Good Morning Washington” for Cataract Awareness Month in June. During the segment, our experienced ophthalmologist educated viewers on the condition with details about what it is, who is susceptible, and how it can progress. Dr. Kang was pleased to share his knowledge on the subject to help the public better understand its prevalence and treatability.
In the discussion, Dr. Kang revealed that cataracts are the leading cause of blindness, despite how effectively they can be treated. In response to this fact, he explained that people nearing the age of 50 should undergo a screening for the condition, since this is when cataracts most often develop. After further describing what the condition entails, he provided an overview of how cataract surgery can restore sight, sometimes with even better vision than before.
