EDOW Gives Back: Dr. Vicente’s Medical Mission in Guatemala
At Eye Doctors of Washington, we have been committed to enhancing vision and improving eye health for over 50 years. In addition to providing state-of-the-art eye care in the Washington DC area, our team also has a passion for giving back to communities in need. EDOW supports our doctors in utilizing their skills to help with a range of humanitarian efforts.
Recently, G. Vike Vicente M.D. traveled to Guatemala for a medical mission to provide care to underserved rural communities. Dr. Vicente worked with the Michigan Helps Medical Team, a non-profit organization that has been providing free medical and dental services to rural communities in Guatemala each year since 1994. Dr. Vicente was able to provide critical pediatric ophthalmological care to improve the lives of children. This video highlights some of the work that Dr. Vicente was able to accomplish on his trip with the Michigan Helps Medical Team.
