Dr. Kenneth Schor is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract and anterior segment surgery. Dr. Schor has extensive experience in cataract, complex cataract surgery, and advanced intraocular lens (IOL) technologies, including astigmatic correcting (toric), multifocal, trifocal, and extended depth of focus IOLs. Dr. Schor was also one of the first surgeons in the D.C. metro area to implant Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) technology. He is also an expert in laser-assisted cataract surgery utilizing the CATALYS femtosecond laser.
In addition to cataract surgery, Dr. Schor specializes in glaucoma surgical management. Dr. Schor utilizes the latest laser and surgical techniques, including Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT), Baerveldt and Ahmed Glaucoma implant surgery, traditional trabeculectomy, as well as minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) including iStent, Kahook Dual Blade goniotomy, OMNI 360, and Xen Gel Stent.
Dr. Schor graduated from the highly competitive combined baccalaureate/MD program at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he received the Steven N. Schindler award for high ethical and humane standards. Dr. Schor completed his clinical and surgical fellowship in glaucoma at the world-renowned New York Eye & Ear Infirmary under the mentorship of Dr. Robert Ritch and Dr. Jeffrey Liebmann. Prior to joining Eye Doctors of Washington, Dr. Schor was in private practice in New York City as well as an adjunct attending the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, where he assisted with resident training.
Dr. Schor is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society. He is a former President of the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Ophthalmological Society. He has contributed to numerous research studies and presented at national ophthalmology conferences. Dr. Schor continues to participate in clinical research.
